A ceramic coating is only as good as its application. The Detail Dr. Ceramic Coating Applicator Pad pairs a firm foam core with a fine microfibre cover. The foam gives you even pressure across the panel, and the microfibre releases coating smoothly without soaking up more than it needs.

Why it works

The flat, square-edged shape makes it easy to work in controlled cross-hatch passes, get into panel edges and keep coverage consistent from one section to the next. It's the same approach we use on our own Molecular coatings, now in your hands.

How to use

  1. Prepare the paint first: wash, decontaminate and wipe down with Surface Therapy.
  2. Prime the pad with a few drops of coating along the face.
  3. Work a 50 x 50cm section at a time in cross-hatch passes (side to side, then up and down).
  4. Level and buff each section with a clean microfibre towel within the time given in your coating's instructions.
  5. Add a few more drops as the pad starts to drag, rather than flooding it.
  6. Use a fresh pad for each coating job. Coating cures inside the pad, so it can't be reused once it has hardened.
